If we talk about the similarity of Asian Cats then these are some what similar to the Burmese but Asian Cats have a wide range of patterns and coat colors. Asian Cats were actually developed in Britain by Baroness Miranda von Kirchberg in 1981.

These Asian Shorthairs are basically categories into 4 different ways.
1. The Asian Self which includes the Bombay, which is a black Asian Self
2. The Asian Tabby
3. The Asian Smoke
4. The Burmilla which is a shaded Asian Tiffanies is the name which is given to all the longhaired Asians and they are shown in foreign categories in major cat shows.
American Wirehair Cat Breed
American wirehair cat breed originated in United StatesThe American Wirehair cat was the one which originated in New York. They were ranked as the rare breed out of the 41 CFA breeds in the year 2003. The very first white hair cat was born due to the cat mutation. The owner of the parent cats called a local breeder and handed him over the kitten for only$50. She started the breeding and thus this breed came into existence. She named the male as Council Rock Farm Adam of Hi-Fi, and the female Tip-Toe of Hi-Fi. This breed was doing well and thus was accepted for the championship competition in the year 1978.

Physical Characteristics of American Wirehair cat Breed
As the name suggests, the wirehair cat has a very dominant coat. The fur is very dense and springy. The whiskers are curled and the fur is coarse too. The prime feature of this cat is the fur which provides a very good feeling when touched. Also they are very strongly built and are of various colors and patterns. It is said that American Wirehair has a strong resistance to the diseases.

The American Wirehair cat is said to be very intelligent and affectionate. They have a playful nature and thus act as very good pet.
American Shorthair Cat Breed
American Shorthair cat breed originated in Europe. If we talk about the most popular breeds, The American Shorthair occupies the 8th spot in United States. It is believed that this breed was brought to North America to protect precious cargo from the attack of rats. European settlers are given the credit of bringing this breed to America. Earlier this breed was known as Domestic Shorthair but in the year 1966 it was renamed to American Shorthair to represent that it has All American character.
Physical Characteristics of American Shorthair
As compared to the British Shorthair, this breed is more athletic and well built. It is larger and has a distinct appearance. They are one of the low maintenance breed and are very affectionate. The male weigh from 11-15 pounds and the females weigh between 8-12 pounds. Generally they take 3-4 years for complete development and they have a life span of about 15-20 years.

This breed requires special care as they are tender by heart. American Shorthairs can live fifteen to twenty years, like most felines, and often only requiring only annual vaccinations, veterinary checkups, a quality diet and plenty of tender loving care.

The American Shorthair has more than eighty different colors and patterns. This ranges from glistening blue eyed white to brown patched tabby and many more patterns. Silver tabby is one of the most well known colors of the American Shorthair. These cats have long tails and a slender body.
American Keuda Cat Breed
One of the emerging breeds of cat is The American Keuda which is pronounced as KEW-da. Since 2002, this breed is under active development and now it is called as a provisional breed which means that it has been standardized but still all the desired characteristics are not achieved. The ancestors of American Keuda are considered to be brought by first European settlers or by the Spanish in the 16-17 century.
Physical Appearance of American Keuda Cat Breed
The American Keuda Cat has a beautiful foreign shape and belly flap. They are muscular and have a loose skin. They feel more comfortable in warmer temperature as they lack thick undercoat. The head of this cat is wedge shaped and the ears are moderately large. The fur is very soft and silky.

Talking about the eyes, the eyes are almond shaped and fit perfectly into the face. The cat is leveled due to the same length of legs as the forequarters and hindquarters and they have a tapered tail.
Temperament of American Keuda Cat Breed
These are termed as utility cat breeds because of the hardiness and physical prowess. They are rationale to withstand unforgiving conditions and are able to survive. These conditions also don’t cause any affect on the fitness of this breed. They are energetic and are very social. Due to this nature they get along very well in groups. There are reports that they are very friendly with children at home and this makes them a very special pet.
The American Curl Cat Breed originated in Lakewood, California in 1981 due to spontaneous mutation. A cat named Shulamith is considered to be the female founder of this breed. In the year 1983, American Curl was exhibited for the first time and it won The International Cat Association (TICA) championship in 1987.This breed was the first one with both long and short hair to be admitted to the Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA) Championship Class
Physical Appearance
American Curl is characterized by the unusual ears which are curly from the face toward the center of the back of the skull. It takes 2-3 years for this cat to attain maturity and attain a weight of 5-10lbs. A very strong feature in this cat is that it is not affected by the genetic defects and is very healthy and strong.

The kittens have straight ears which start to curl within 10days. In about four months the process of curl is almost over and a perfect shape is attained. The arc of curl varies from 90-180 degree. American Curl cat has a very soft and silky coat.
Temperament
The American Curl is said to be a very good pet and enjoys spending time with the humans. Specially it enjoys the company of its owners and is said to be very good natured cat.
American Bobtail Cat – Country of origin – United States
This breed of cat is one of the new breeds and has appeared in the late 1960’s. The American Bobtail has a peculiar feature and that is the “bobbed” tail which in length is about one-third to one-half of normal tail length. There is a misconception that this breed is related to Japanese Bobtail but actually its not so.The American Bobtail is believed to be a cross breed of a bobcat and tabby cat. The Manx gene is considered to be responsible for the unusual tail. New and improved breeds in different colors and divisions are the result of modifications in the genes. Due to these changes, a better household pet with wild look features and sweet nature is produced. The International Cat Association recognized this cat in 1989 and was accepted for Championship competition in The Cat Fanciers Association, The International Cat Association and the American Cat Fanciers’ Association.
Characteristics of the American Bobtail Cat
Bobtails generally take 2-3 years to fully develop. This is much more than what a normal cat takes. They have a noticeable body and have strong built. The chest, hips and other body parts are extremely strong built and the hind legs are longer than the fore legs. The head is very broad and without flat panes, concave curve from nose to brow, prominent whisker pads and a gentle slope wide nose along with medium sized ears which equally mounted on top and side of head.

Talking about eyes, they are almond shape and the color varies with coat color. The coat is basically of two types- Short hair coat and long hair coat.
Temperament of the American Bobtail Cat
Bobtails are overactive, friendly and very intelligent. They greet the owners at doors much like dogs. They have a high tolerance level and are very energetic. One thing famous about them is that they can easily escape from locks.
Aegean Cat Breed – Country of origin – Greece
The Aegean cat (only native Greek breed of cat.) originated from the Cycladic Islands of Greece and its development was started by the breeders in fledgling Greek Cat Fancy in early 1990.
Characteristics of the Aegean cat
Aegean cat has a semi –longhaired coat without any down hair and has a rich tail. This coat provides a good protection to the body in the extreme cold climatic conditions. As far as colors are concerned, white is always present along with 2 or 3 other colors. Stripes may or may not be present in this breed.

The Aegean Cat has a muscular build and has a perfect body. This medium sized breed has round-shaped paws and a long straight tail without any kinks. Ears are wide having rounded tips and are covered with hairs. Mostly like other cats, the eyes are really beautiful with shade of green color in them.

The Aegean Cat is intelligent and is very capable predators. Due to this they are mostly used as pest controllers in the rural areas. Aegean Cats as pets share a very good relationship with humans. Abyssinian Cat Breed – Country of origin – Egypt
The Abyssinian breed of cat is believed to be originated from an Egyptian cat family. This domesticated breed was taken from Egypt to England by a British soldier. The Abyssinian breed has the characteristics of Zula and Tabby breeds. The Abyssinian is one of the most popular shorthair breeds of cats in United States of America.
Physical Characteristics of the Abyssinian
Talking about the physical characteristics, The Abyssinian has a medium length body with well-developed muscles. The bone structure is fine and has slender legs in proportion to the body. Other characters are – long tail with tapering at point, small and oval paws, broad cup shape ears and an M shaped marking in the fur on the forehead.
One of the beautiful characteristics of this breed of cat is that it has almond shaped eyes with either of gold, green, hazel or copper color which fit perfectly into the broad and wedge shaped head.

The coat is very fine, short and close lying. Three four colored bands are present along with one main base color. In the Abyssinian, back of the hinds and the feet are black in color. One more color which is popular is the Sorrel having a yellowish-brown base, with chocolate brown ticking. In the recent years, Blue Abyssinians are becoming very popular due to the light-beige base color along with blue ticking, paw pads and backs of the legs. The Silver Abyssinians (not recognized by the Cat Fanciers Association) has pure silvery white with markings varying from black, blue, warm dark cream and cinnamon.
Other rare colored Abyssinians are Cream, the Tortoiseshell, Chocolate, Red and Lilac.
Temperament of the Abyssinian
The Abyssinian is from the intelligent and extrovert breed of cats. They are always laying and exploring new things but they are sensible enough to avoid any unnecessary risks. They are attention seekers and if they are deprived of that then they can get into depression. Abyssinians go well with other cats but they do not compromise with their space. They may not be considered as a perfect lap cats but still they are one of the most popular breeds in the US.
